About This Project

Why This Site Exists

The Titanic story has been told thousands of times. Most of those tellings repeat the same myths, embellish the same legends, and lean on the same Hollywood scenes. This site was built to do something different: go back to the primary sources — the British and American inquiry transcripts, the wireless logs, the survivor depositions — and present what those documents actually say.

We are not historians. We are not academics. We are people who read the transcripts and were surprised by how much the popular story departs from the documented record. This site is our attempt to share that surprise.

The Rules

  • Every claim links to a source
  • No colorized or AI-generated images
  • If sources conflict, we say so
  • Speculation is labeled as speculation
